Did you know...?

Georgia ranks 6th in the nation in reported pediatric and adolescent AIDS cases, and has the 5th highest number of adult AIDS cases in the country (www.cdc.gov).

UGA HEROs

is a collegiate philanthropy that donates 100% of its revenue raised to our parent organization H.E.R.O. for Children, Inc. UGA HEROs develops fundraising programs and events each year to provide quality of life care programs for over 350 children in Georgia affected by HIV/ AIDS. We host multiple events throughout the year where we interact with the children including our HERO Olympics, which brings over 150 children from our programs to enjoy a day of fun and games. The programs funded by our efforts include Rising HEROs which focuses on emotional, social, educational, and vocational development, SuperHEROs which pairs the children with mentors who share with them new and unforgettable life experiences, and Camp High Five, a summer camp designed especially for our children. UGA HEROs has become the largest collegiate fall philanthropy in Georgia raising more than $1,300,000 for children affected by HIV/AIDS.

Thank you to everyone who attended A Night for HEROs on October 20 at the Charles H. Morris Center. The event was an exciting first step towards changing the lives of children in Savannah affected by HIV/AIDS. We are excited to announce that seven local children will be able to attend Camp High Five on July 8-July 13 next summer.

We would like to extend a special thanks to our presenting partner, The Children's Hospital at Memorial University Medical Center, to our emcee, Tuquyen Mach, and to WSAV News 3 for providing coverage of the event. You can view the story by clicking here.

Please bookmark this page, as it will be the main source for updates with H.E.R.O. for Children’s outreach in Savannah. If you would like to find out more information about the local impact and how you can help, please email Chase Mouchet and Jonathan Lee at ugaherosavannah@gmail.com.

We are grateful for the support from our partners and sponsors listed below. Our event would not have been successful without these local businesses joining together for this cause.
